About this event
The Seasons Blurred When I Met You By Aiko Nishioka On view: December 17, 2026–January 2, 2027 Opening reception: Friday, December 18, 2026 | 5-7pm Artist Bio: Born in the Midwest, raised in New Jersey and Maryland, and educated in Seattle, Boston and New York City, Aiko has always drawn inspiration from her natural surroundings — whether the stunning mountains of the Pacific Northwest, or the intimate-feeling scenes outside her Princeton studio window. She continues to be captivated by the streams of movement, the shifting brilliance of light and seasons, the hidden bursts of color just a glance away. Aiko holds a Masters in Fine Arts from Parsons, and studied painting at the University of Washington and Brandeis University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
She has worked at award-winning architecture and design studios, including the Nacul Center in Amherst, MA, MJ Sagan Architecture in Princeton, NJ and Global Home Studios in Princeton. In 2014, she was selected for an artist residency program in Puglia, Italy, where her work explored the Japanese concept of komorebi, of ‘light filtering through trees.’ Now a longtime resident of Princeton, Aiko was recently a member of a local artist’s collective and currently works in a converted studio alongside a small group of fellow artists.
